Muktinath is located at the base of Thorang la pass in Mustang district. It is located at an altitude of 3,710m. This place is religiously important for both Buddhist and Hindu. The place name is derived from the word Mukti Kshetra which mean “place for salvation”. It is one of the sacred place and sakti pitha, as described in various holy books.
Within the temple, there are statue of various gods and goddess. There is Buddhist monk and nun to worship the temple. Behind the temple, there is 108 water tap through which holy water is flowed. It is believe that taking bath in these tap will wash away all the sins you have done in your life.
