Situated at the far east-north of Trishuli, Nuwakot has been considered as the touristic destination with its historical and cultural significance. Nuwakot is one among the nine Kots that are Belkot, Dhuwakot, Dhaibungpot, Pyaskot, Bhairamkot, Malakot, Simalkot, Sallyankot and Kalikakot.  It is a place where King Prithvi Narayan Shah of Gorkha led the unification campaign to build a single strong state.
